Some of us are better at remembering faces rather than names, right? What if the humble address book could go beyond mere functionality to become a plaything, something users enjoy exploring?
A combination of the carousel design pattern along with alphanumerical filters and flyout content should, in theory, make a very intuitive form of contact management that allows the user to browse and explore people just by facial recognition.
Liza, a College student in her first year has made literally hundreds of new friends in the last few months and is looking for a dat over the weekend, so she decided to open up her phone book quickly scan through the images, recognized a guy called Leo she met in a bar a few week ago but couldn’t remember his name. She taps his picture to send him an sms.

In the first wireframe shown above, the Liza gestures through the portraits horizontally until she recognizes Tim. She then proceeds to tap on the picture flipping it over to reveal contact methods.
Double tapping on the portrait dails the number without revealing the contact methods.
